Sage, or Salvia, is a Mediterranean plant that has been used for hundreds of years as medicine in tea and cooking. It has shown to be more effective than anti-microbial mouthwash in eradicating disease causing bacteria in the mouth and candida! It is also a good cure for upset stomachs and as a digestive aid.

My favorite way to enjoy Sage is in tea:

To make sage tea, pour 1 cup of almost-boiling water over 2 tablespoons of fresh or 1 tablespoon of dried sage leaves. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes and strain. Add honey and/or lemon, if desired.

Sage is also pairs well with meats, pastas, broccoli, and sweet potato- just to name a few!
